Letters to the editor Sirs: You have my congratulations on initiating a means for the public to learn about helicopters, their advantages and disadvantages, and their future. Your magazine is an excellent source of information and gives a really instructive account of helicopter and other aviation information. Lt. Wm. L. Vavricka Sheppard Field, Texas Sirs: Congratulations on your very successful entrance into the rotary wing field. I feel your magazine is of the greatest importance to the helicopter industry and one of the most commendable publications on the market. Howard Hunter, Jr. Flight Research Engineer Sikorsky Aircraft Bridgeport, Conn. Sirs: I have read the contents of your magazine very carefully and enjoyed the subject matter tremendously. Your publication is greatly needed to cover a phase of air transportation that is becoming increasingly important and necessary to the metropolitan area of New York City. In addition, your magazine is a great graphic art contribution to the aviation industry. Aviation Section New York Board of Trade Dan H. Ecker Executive Secretary Sirs: I feel your new magazine will be of great value to those of us who are vitally interested in helicopters. I would like very much to see in it articles on helicopter design, including design information on existing helicopters, news about helicopter component manufacturers' products, such as engine makers and constructors of blades, constant rotor speed units, etc. A helicopter manufacturers' directory listing names and addresses, complete with pictures and specifications of their models, would be extremely helpful. Also a bibliography of all current helicopter writings would be most useful. Lloyd G. Curtis President Sun Helicopter Company San Diego 6, California Sirs: We are so pleased to be receiving AMERiCAN HELICOPTER MAGAZINE and to include it among the more than 150 other periodicals which are in daily use in our library. We are placing you on our weekly magazine's check-list which goes to the major aircraft companies, airlines, and various technical libraries. Neil Steinmetz Librarian Pacific Aeronautical Library of the Institute of the Aeronautical Sciences Hollywood 28, Calif. Sirs: I am very much interested in AMERICAN HELICOPTER and wish you every success for the future. Having started a new aviation magazine (AVIATION) thirty years ago, I know of some of the difficulties of the early period of any publication. Lester D. Gardner Chairman of the Council Institute of the Aeronautical Sciences New York 21, N. Y. (Continued 011 Page 46) Announcing The appointment of a top design-engineer to our staff - Mr. Walter H.
