So why is that text there?

When I first started this web site I just thought people would be interested in seeing old helicopter information. Well as it turns out, I have lots of requests for searchable contents of the website and American Helicopter Magazine.
Since I scan all issues and post them as jpg's, the search engines can't see what was on the pages, therefore cannot index any of the content and make it searchable.

The only other option was recreate ALL OF THE TEXT!! That is the path that I have gone down. Posting the text from what I consider "relevant pages" and some ads as well. Even using the most advanced OCR software available, with the age of these books I still get quite a few errors. I have tried to correct most of them but if you find an error, please let me know. This has proven to be a massive undertaking. It is going to add a lot of time to this project, but I think it will be worth it in future.
